Getting there

Motorway A7, direction Ulm–Kempten–Füssen, exit Füssen. Distance from the motorway exit to Hohenschwangau: approx. 7 km.

Take the A7 Ulm–Kempten–Füssen to its end point in Füssen. Then drive towards Schwangau/Königsschlösser on the B16. From Füssen take the B17 towards Schwangau and then turn right towards Hohenschwangau/Königsschlösser.

Nearest railway station: Füssen. Distance from the station to Hohenschwangau: approx. 5 km. Taxi ride: approx. 8 minutes.

From Füssen station: bus line RVA 73 (direction Steingaden/Garmisch-Partenkirchen) or RVA 78 (direction Schwangau) to the stop Hohenschwangau – Alpseestraße. Journey time by public transport: approx. 15 minutes.

Distance from Munich Airport to Hohenschwangau: approx. 155 km.

By public transport: S-Bahn S1 (towards München Ost) or S8 (towards Herrsching) to Munich main station. Continue with the Regional Express / Bayerische Regiobahn (platforms 27–36) to Füssen station. Then take bus line RVA 73 (direction Steingaden/Garmisch-Partenkirchen) or RVA 78 (direction Schwangau) to the stop Hohenschwangau – Alpseestraße.
